Chevron Oronite is extending online applications for the position of Operations Technician located in Jurong Island, Singapore through January 21, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

This position reports to the Area Team Leader in the shift team Operations Department.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Ensures safe and reliable operation of the plant, equipment (reactor, filter, heater, boiler, incinerator, tank, pump), pipeline network and jetty facility
  • Performs structured rounds (field/DCS console) and takes corrective action to maintain equipment and plant operations within safe operating limits
  • Performs trouble shooting to resolve operational issues and provide support for technical and maintenance teams
  • Performs unit start-up, shutdown, turnaround activities in field and DCS console
  • Prepares equipment/systems for maintenance work and do first line maintenance within operational control
  • Updates and follows operating procedures for safe plant operation and prepare Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) documentation for equipment repair


Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Engineering or Manufacturing / NITEC - Chemical Process / GCE ‘O’ level with Maths, Physics and Chemistry
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical plant operations is essential
  • Strong commitment and desire to ensure operational excellence and meet safety requirements
  • Able to work independently and in a team, as well as communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must be prepared to work 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island
