Chevron Oronite is accepting online applications for the position of Laboratory Technicians/Technician Trainees located in Jurong Island, Singapore through January 25, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


  • Performs approved tests using analytical instruments on the raw materials, components, and products as part of the plant’s operations
  • Performs in-process tests as required by Technical Service and Operations groups
  • Performs calibration and general maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Conducts tests on SPC/SQC samples and maintain SPC/SQC charts
  • Keeps abreast of the changes in the test methods and calibration procedures to ensure accuracy of results
  • Assists the Laboratory Team Leader in the entry of test data in LIMS
  • Arranges and handles the upkeep of the retained samples of raw materials and finished product shipments
  • Practices High Performance Organization concepts at work
  • Implements the best housekeeping practices of the laboratory
  • Maintains and troubleshoots analytical equipment


Required Qualifications:


  • Diploma in Chemical Process Technology or GCE A level including a Pass in Chemistry
  • At least 1 or 2 years of relevant work experience in refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry; those who lack relevant experience but are interested in working in a petrochemical industry are welcome to apply as training will be provided
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good planning and organization skills
  • Must be prepared to work 12-hour rotating shifts


Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.


International Considerations:

Selected candidate will work in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
