Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


  • Plan and coordinate with Terminal Managers when meter proving is due.
  • Secure trucking resources and personnel to assist.
  • Develop and maintain meter proving schedule for all assigned terminals in the Northwest area of operations on a quarterly basis per current Chevron Meter Proving guidelines and in accordance with the American Petroleum Institute (API) - Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards.
  • Coordinate with local agencies when meter proving is taking place at various terminals.
  • Schedule and ensure meter prover equipment is calibrated per manufacturer recommendations and Chevron's internal requirements.
  • Ensure vehicle is maintained per Chevron's and DOT's requirements.
  • Safely tow meter prover trailer to various terminals while adhering to Chevron and DOT rules.
  • Review, sign, and provide meter proving reports to appropriate county as required.
  • Calibrate to verify operating equipment if blends are within acceptable tolerance limits.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust control valves as necessary to ensure they are working properly.
  • Identify and adjust meter factors as necessary and update with the most recent meter proving factor results; ensure correct meter factors are entered into RAC's.  Immediately investigate and communicate any out of tolerance situations.
  • Participate in Loss/Gains trouble shooting or investigations with riser (various measurement meter types, PIB-Pulse Import Board, temperature alarms, Zero Flow Alarms, RTD module, out of tolerance blends & blend recipes).
  • Troubleshoot and repair terminal operations equipment, i.e.; piping, valves, pumps, injectors, filtration systems, pumps, additive injectors, turbine meters, tank gauges, and tank truck loading rack equipment (TTLR).
  • Validate and correct deficiencies identified for the Automatic Tank Temperature (ATT) transmitters and the tank truck loading rack Resistance Temperature Devices (RTDs) to ensure proper functionality of equipment.
  • Ensure Small Volume Prover (SVP) recalibration certificates and updates for base volumes are updated for SVP.
  • Ensure all work performed adheres to Chevron's Operational Excellent (OE) standards and regulatory and code requirements.
  • Perform all work activities safely to meet commitments related to terminal operations.
  • Actively support Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) processes by accomplishing daily activities within applicable regulations and policies, carrying out duties in an environmentally conscious manner, following safe operating practices, maintaining a safe working environment, participating in Loss Prevention System and being prepared to respond to any type of incident.
  • This position requires driving on a routine basis


Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years relevant industry experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proficient in the use of general hand tools, power tools, and maintenance type equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and other similar business software systems


Preferred Qualifications:


  • An Associate’s Degree in a mechanical discipline or skilled vocational / technical related trade is preferred
  • Working knowledge and understanding of automated processes, rotating equipment, control systems, pumps, compressors, boilers, piping, tanks, electrical, instrumentation and related areas of focus are very important
