Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Reactor Engineer, Chevron Technology Marketing (TEMA) located in Richmond, California.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
 

  • Perform structural calculations to design/evaluate load capacity of various pressure vessel and reactor internals.
  • Design reactor vessel and internals in 3-D CAD.
  • Review fabricator drawings and specifications.
  • Innovate and troubleshoot designs
  • Supervise CAD designers to prepare reactor design packages.
  • Inspect equipment in fabricator’s shop and installed internals in refineries
  • Enter confined space work environments in refinery settings to advise and inspect installed equipment 
  • Actively demonstrate Chevron Way behaviors and promote Incident and Injury Free culture (IIF).
  • Complete all mandatory Chevron training on time.

 

Required Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor Degree in either Mechanical, Civil or Materials Engineering with structural experience or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years related industry experience (such as refining or petrochemical) and familiar with ASME Sec. VIII code.

 

Preferred Qualifications:        
                       

  • Experience in 3D CAD software AutoCAD Inventor® (or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of ASME pressure vessel design, welding, fabrication, inspection, and API RP934A is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of FEA analysis concepts and familiarity with FEA Analysis software.
  • Knowledge of high pressure, high temperature reactor design in refining industry.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
