• Chevron Oronite is a global leader in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of quality chemical additives that improve the performance of fuels and lubricants used in a variety of equipment types. Oronite has 3 world class plants in Gonfreville (France), Belle Chase (LA), and Singapore along with 2 smaller regional plants in Omaezaki (Japan) and Sao Paulo (Brazil).
• This position will work as DBA and help our team keep all Oracle and SQL Databases across different locations up and running including helping with data transfer jobs and interfaces.

Responsibilities for this position:
• Responsible for installing, configuration, performance tuning, monitoring & backup of Oracle Databases.
• Handling many DBA level tasks for Oracle like database migration, patch management, monitoring services and uptime.
• Evaluates system alternatives, provides estimates for database solutions.
• Responsible for the delivery of technical specifications, test plans, code & unit testing of technical solutions through the development life cycle.
• Ensures all deliverables adhere to Chevron technical standards
• Corrects defects found during functional, integration, performance, and user acceptance test cycles.
• Ensure adherence to IT Service Management (ITSM) incident and change management processes for application delivery
• Implements database tables, views and stored procedures and scheduled jobs
• Analyze queries for performance improvement opportunities
• Provides full support of systems for break-fix, install, move, add, change, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Participating in weekly and monthly meeting calls with other teams/remote locations. Able to co-ordinate among the geographically distributed stakeholders like business analyst, development team, quality assurance team and project manager.
• Works with Systems and Business Analysts to gather detailed business requirements, identify preferred solutions, develop functional specifications with the support team, implement, and test new functionality
• Balance priorities to ensure both SLAs and project commitments are met

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems,  Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience working in enterprise Oracle environment.
• Should have worked on Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g a must
• Installing and Patching Oracle Software.
• Database object management
• Scheduling jobs for Space monitoring.
• Hands-on experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager, DB cloning, commissioning, migrations
• SQL Performance tuning and Scheduling Daily Backups.
• Expertise in Oracle Recovery Manger (RMAN) backup, recovery and Oracle Utilities like data pump

• Experience and proficiency with Linux/Unix environment, scripting and automation
