Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


  • Technical content and contractor oversite in the design, and modification of large and or complex electrical systems and facilities including power transmission, distribution, and generation systems.
  • Develop and recommend improvements to electrical power systems design standards, best practices, and safety procedures.
  • Plan and manage technical qualification, QA/QC manufacturing oversite, factory acceptance tests, integration testing, and pre-commissioning/installation tests of motors/ generators, switchgear, ASD's, subsea transformers, subsea power umbilicals, subsea electrical connectors, and penetrators.
  • International and domestic business travel to locales with subsea operations.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of Electrical Power Systems Engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience developing detailed functional specifications and bid packages, selection of electrical power systems equipment, maintaining system one-line drawings, and development of installation and commissioning procedures.
  • Demonstrated competency in reviewing, performing, or directing electrical power system studies including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, dynamic stability, harmonic analysis, and electromagnetic/thermal finite element analysis of subsea cables.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • At least 1-2 years experience related to a Subsea discipline
  • Onshore/Offshore Field experience with power systems is preferred
  • Offshore medical clearance and offshore survival certification
  • Sufficient background knowledge and experience to serve on industry technical committees
  • A minimum of three college electrical power systems courses is required
