Enterprise Litigation includes paralegals who provide enterprise-wide support for litigation, transactional, compliance, and environmental matters. This position will provide paralegal support to the Upstream Law Litigation Management Group in Houston.  No relocation will be provided.

The individual will perform paralegal tasks under the guidance and direction of Corporate Leads, including:

  • Manage discovery for a varied and complex litigation docket, including environmental, employment, personal injury, royalty, commercial and property damage disputes
  • Manage subpoena responses
  • Assist with internal and external investigations
  • Collaborate with the internal and external legal team to manage preservation, data collection, and production
  • Conduct factual and legal research, including witness interviews
  • Contribute analysis and develop solutions to the legal teams supported  
  • Work closely with Chevron business partners, Corporate Leads, Legal Analysts, eDiscovery Specialists, and outside counsel, to resolve a variety of issues relating to litigation support
  • Ensure efficient and appropriate application of Law Function tools, processes, Company Policy and compliance through matter management

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of eight years of experience as a paralegal
  • Ability to effectively analyze and communicate legal issues across broad functional and organizational lines (e.g., business partners, subject matter experts and attorneys)
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated judgment and ability to maintain high quality performance with competing deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in an often demanding and fast-paced setting
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with clients, management, business partners, in-house counsel, outside counsel, and staff
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Demonstrated experience with eDiscovery practice, process, developments and tools
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership and accountability, with a commitment to contribute your perspective

Preferred Qualifications:


Paralegal certificate from ABA approved program
