Drilling and Completions (D&C) Field Representative Development Program:

 

Chevron is actively recruiting candidates interested in becoming a member of our next generation of Drill Site Representative (DSR), Completion Site Representative (CSR), and Workover Site Representative (WSR). The Chevron D&C Field Representative Development Program is designed to train and deploy Chevron employees from other functions, who would like an opportunity to have a career in D&C. We also seek to attract people who have strong mechanical aptitude, analytical ability and leadership qualities.

 

Our DSRs, CSRs, and WSRs are responsible for managing all aspects of operations on our company operated drilling, completion, workover, well intervention and abandonment operations. All of our operations focus on safety and achieving an incident free operation and the DSRs, CSRs, and WSRs are a crucial element in these efforts.

 

The majority of our US based DSRs, CSRs, and WSRs work a rotational work schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off.  Upon successful completion of the D&C Field Rep Development Program, candidate must be willing to work a 14/14 rotational schedule in various areas of the United States.

 

The D&C Field Representative Development Program is an intensive 12-month training program that will expose participants to the fundamental elements necessary to set them on the path toward achieving a successful career as a DSR, CSR, and WSR.

 

Program Details:

 

  • Classroom training courses
  • Time in the field to gain familiarity and understanding of:
    • Safety and environmental management systems
    • Rig and downhole tools and equipment
    • Management of rig contractors and third-party business partners
    • Logistical requirements
    • Documentation of day to day activities, costs and well details
  • The majority of in house training will be done in the vicinity of Houston and Midland, TX.
  • Field sessions will be held in various locations around the US, primarily in West Texas, Southern California and Pennsylvania.
  • Driving a company vehicle on a regular basis is required.

    • Capable of maintaining composure under stressful situations.
    • Strong computer and writing skills to accurately describe and document technical and operational situations to a supervisor via telecom and/or email.
    • Ability to meet minimum requirements (4-6 month mark) and final assessment interview.
    • Achieve Chevron’s IADC Well Control Certification to graduate from the program.
    • Good organizational and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to guide tasks/operations.
    • Ability to execute project timelines and objectives.
    • Demonstrated ability to meet operational challenges
    • Actively seeks to develop competence in wellsite operations in support of drilling, completion and workover activities.

Participants are expected to provide frequent feedback to their supervisor regarding the effectiveness of the program and provide suggestions for improvement.

 

Upon successful completion of the program, the new representative will be qualified to fulfill the role of a second person on one of Chevron’s US based land-based drilling, completion or workover operations. As such, they will be expected to provide 24-hour supervision of rig operations, including times of inclement weather.

 

Candidate must successfully pass math, analytical, and team building tests as part of the interviewing process. Additional technical and leadership training will be available through company's internal training program.

 

Demonstrated competency in the role will lead to roles of increasing responsibility and complexity.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one of the following requirements
    • military experience with at least one successful tour and a Military Occupational Specialty in areas such as Mechanical or Logistics.
    • 2+ years of oil field experience
  • Must be willing to travel to remote land work locations.
  • A valid drivers license.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Well Control training.
  • 2- 4 years Technical Degree related to the oil and gas industry
  • Some rig experience or oilfield service company experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

 

Relocation Options:

  • Relocation will not be considered.

  • Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
