Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

 

  • Responsible for consultation, development, deployment and support of technologies related to process alarm management, advanced alarm management, operator situational awareness, Procedure Automation (ExaPilot or Proc Ops), and fault detection. 
  • Contributor to the organization's (ETC/Process Automation) Alarm Management R&D program. 
  • Supports development, upkeep, and deployment of Chevron Alarm Management Engineering Standards (CES). 
  • Provides expert consulting to Chevron internal Operating Companies (OPCO's)/Strategic Business Units (SBU's) and Major Capital Projects (MCPs) in alarm management (and process control and operator situational awareness).
  • Technology support for both domestic and international Upstream and Downstream operating companies.

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering
  • At least 10 years’ experience in process alarm management technology, process control technology, and/or process engineering technology within oil and gas or petrochemical industry is essential. 
  • Must have knowledge of Upstream and/or Downstream operations.
  • Experience in developing interfaces or offline engineering tools in Visual Basic, C Sharp, or other applicable programming languages is essential.
  • Hands-on experience using Honeywell, Yokogawa or Emerson process control systems
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 30% of the time.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Onsite experience in supporting oil and gas process operations
  • Working knowledge of Plant State Suite Alarm Management software
  • Working knowledge of ISA 18.2 Alarm Management Standard
  • Provided Process Control support for Upstream or Downstream facilities
