Chevron Canada Resources (CCR) is currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join the Canada Business Unit. This position is based in Calgary, AB and will report to the Supervisor, Legal Support Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal assistant support to 3 or more lawyers in the Legal Department. The ideal candidate possesses a Legal Assistant Diploma and has experience working with contracts, agreements and documents, coupled with exceptional communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:


  • Provide legal assistant support to the department Lawyers
  • Assist the department Lawyers in preparing contracts, agreements and documents
  • Prepare documentation and obtain approvals and signatures required for execution of contracts
  • Prepare first drafts of correspondence for review by the Lawyers
  • With direction from Lawyers respond to internal client requests
  • Scan and file executed documents
  • Maintain and update file management system
  • Arrange meetings and travel
  • Process invoices for payment
  • Assist in every facet of managing the Lawyers’ practice



Required Qualifications:

  • Legal Assistant Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of previous legal administrative experience in a professional setting
  • Experience with document management software and SharePoint would be an asset
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills with proven ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with global, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing work priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work with multiple deadlines under minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates pro-active, diplomatic, collaborative approach with ability to build positive relationships with both internal & external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to analyze and understand complex situations quickly and develop practical, appropriate solutions to resolve high impact people/business/process issues
  • Superior written skills
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada


Relocation Options:
Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
