UIT Software Engineer (Full Stack Developer)

High Level Job Description & Scope:

The Upstream IT Solution Engineering and Services – Drilling and Completions Team provides application development and support services for the D&C Function with business enabling solutions guided by Chevron’s information protection and technical standards. The team also enables effective global support models by partnering with global teams for globally deployed applications.

 

ITC Upstream IT Drilling and Completions Application team is looking for a software engineer with an integration focus to drive adoption and technical leadership of our API First and MicroSoft PowerApps vision enabling key projects and digital innovation initiatives with agility and speed.  This role will be part of an Agile scrum team and will provide design and development of integrations and applications.  The primary development tools include PowerApps, Azure Enterprise Integration Services (API Management, Service Bus, Logic Apps & Functions), Ansible and SwaggerHub for design.  They will participate in POCs as we look to quickly evaluate and determine applicability of new intration patterns and platforms.  The Software Engineer role will require previous experiencing developing applications (.Net and/or Java) and must be able to work collaboratively with a large variety of different teams within and outside of ITC.  They should demonstrate a Doer mentality that is not afraid to be hands-on and willing to build demos and prototypes. The ideal candidate should be comfortable driving discussions with a wide range of partners.  This role will be assigned to critical Drilling and Completions platform teams and participate in Agile teams to drive  best practices and guidelines.

 

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Software Development Lifecycle (planning, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance)
  • Familiar with Visual Studio 15 and later, SQL Server Management Studio, VSTS, ADO pipelines
  • Familiar with Object Oriented Design and Object Oriented Programing
  • Knowledge of DevOps, Prototyping, AGILE/Scrum, service-oriented architecture/microservices. 
  • Experience with at least 4 programing languages, such as C#, Java, JavaScript, TSQL, SQL, M, R, Python, Power Shell, JAngular, TypeScript and HTML5.

 

Application and Integration Delivery:
* 5+ years experience experience performing all major development and delivery phases and activities
* Experience with developing applications and/or scripting with strong ability to learn application development. 
* Motivated to learn new technologies quickly
*  Experience with integration development a plus
* Experience with the MicroSoft PowerApps a plus


Technology Depth/Breadth:
• Subject Matter Expertise with APIs and service oriented integration patterns and application to ERP and non-ERP integrations,
- Background with Relational (required) and No-SQL (nice to have) databases
- Experienced pratictioner of Objected Oriented, Entity Relationshiip, XML/XSD and JSON based design
* Understanding of software QA & Testing, esp. Integration & Performance testing + Test Automation
* 2+ years of experience utilizing middleware integration technologies; with at least 2 to 3 full cycle project implementations involving data management and integration preferred.
• Experience with Azure platform a plus
• Experience with Dell Boomi, Service Bus or API Management a plus
