Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of  Retail OE HES Specialist  located  in Brea, CA through January 23, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support and services (Health, Environment & Safety and other organization-wide OE initiatives) to Retail/C&I.
  • Assist with the execution and sustainment of Operational Excellence processes.
  • Provide support and oversight for contractor activity and safe performance.
  • Provide Operational Excellence/HES (OE/HES) guidance to District Managers, Area Support Managers, Business Consultants, retail station personnel, and contractors to ensure compliance with legislation, codes, regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Perform data analysis and periodic OE/HES reviews, including gap assessments and corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct retail station site/C&I visits to perform compliance reviews and Loss Prevention Observations.
  • Complete regulatory reports, business plans emergency response plans, liaise with regulatory agencies, and ensure closure of findings from agency inspections.
  • Perform pre-construction and onsite work in progress reviews of maintenance and construction projects to ensure compliance with Chevron HES Management (CHESM) and Safe Work Practice standards.
  • Develop and deliver OE/HES training to various groups within the organization.
  • Provide oversight, guidance and administrative support for loss/near loss investigations and IMPACT ERM®.  
  • Develop and update processes and training materials and deploy.
  • Other projects as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in Operational Excellence, Occupational Health,  Process Safety, Environment and Safety policies/initiatives, and  CHESM (Contractor Healh Environment Safety Management)      
  • Knowledgeable of Regulatory Requirements and applicability.
  • Demonstrated HES  field experience (3+ years) with OE processes -  Safe Work Practices, CHESM, Compliance Assurance, Motor Vehicle Safety, LPS, Management of Change, Process Safety and incident investigation.
  • Understand federal and state regulatory requirements as it relates to Air, UST, Waste, Fire, Health and Food.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence pro-active safety processes and practices in the field with a diverse group of contractor professionals and operational personnel.
  • Proven team player, able to work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Able to demonstrate and explain benefits of the HES values to a workforce.
  • Must be able to address conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate orally and in writing with the ability to translate technical issues into user friendly communication.
  • Listen carefully and ask questions to fully understand the views, concerns and comments of others.
  • Able to prepare fit for purpose written work and presentations.
  • Job requires driving to stations within the area you are assigned.  Car must meet CVX Motor vehicle safety requirements.  In addition, approximately 20% travel to San Ramon office or other areas to provide HES support.
  • Successful candidate must be able and willing to be on call as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or HES.
  • Experience in Retail Operations.
