Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Piping Engineer located in Bangkok, Thailand with requsition ID 118601.


Position Close Date: Sunday 2 July 2017. 

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:  


  • Provide general engineering support related to piping engineering i.e plot plan, equipment layout design, piping route design, pipe support design, etc. covering conceptual design, front-end engineering through to detailed engineering design
  • Generate and review piping material specifications, specialty items, valve specifications and material take-off to support procurement
  • Perform piping calculation, pipe stress analysis and vibration analysis to support both engineering design and troubleshooting, provide the practical solutions to prevent reoccurrence incident
  • Provide piping technical, analysis and recommendation for supporting failure analysis, root cause analysis and other health, environment and safety issues as requested by supervisor Utilize piping engineering technical to response piping technical query i.e. material review, material evaluation and procurement
  • Develop construction work package to instruct construction/fabrication team on fabrication and installation scope
  • Closely working with construction team for fabrication, transportation, installation, hook-up, commissioning until turn into operations Function as a Project Manager to manage small size project as assigned by supervisor. (scheduling, economics evaluation, Approval for Expenditure (AFE) development, material management, project cost/schedule controls)  




  • Bachelor in Engineering (Mechanical or others) More than 10-year experience in piping engineering
  • Good knowledge in piping engineering codes and standard for offshore operations ( ASME, API, etc. ), able to perform piping calculation and apply fundamental of piping engineering
  • Able to use engineering software to support design i.e. Caesar II, pipe stress calculation and 3D model software General PC skills ( MS, etc. )
  • Good English communication
  • Willingness to travel to locations inside and outside the business unit for job related activities and personal development/training
